…as Anambra APC targets 95% vote surge for Tinubu in 2027

AWKA, NIGERIA — The iNews Times reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has secured a unanimous endorsement for his 2027 re-election bid from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, as the party simultaneously kicked off its Ward Congress across the state’s 326 electoral wards.

The endorsement was announced during a high-level stakeholders’ interactive meeting held at the party’s State Secretariat in Awka. The meeting, which stretched late into Tuesday night and into the early hours of Wednesday, focused on strengthening internal unity and harmonising strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The call for Tinubu’s endorsement was first moved by former Senator representing Anambra North, Emma Obiajulu Anosike, drawing overwhelming support from party stakeholders.

Ward Congress Begins Across 326 Electoral Wards

The meeting also paved the way for the commencement of the APC Ward Congress across all 326 wards in Anambra State, marking the first phase of the party’s internal congresses ahead of council and state congresses.

Anambra APC State Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, said the party’s central objective is to mobilise members across the 21 local government areas and 326 wards in strategic political collaboration with the state-ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Ejidike revealed that the party is targeting at least a 95 per cent increase in votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

“The ‘One APC, One Tinubu Project’ must be our guiding principle in Anambra State,” he said.

He stressed that unity remains the bedrock of political success.

“No political strategy, no matter how transparent, can succeed in an atmosphere of division. Our foremost responsibility is unity.”

Soludo’s Support Highlighted

Ejidike also expressed satisfaction that Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, is supportive of Tinubu’s re-election bid a development he described as encouraging for cross-party collaboration in the state.

According to him, grassroots mobilisation remains critical to consolidating gains recorded under the APC-led federal government.

“Every ward, every unit and every community must feel the presence and impact of the APC-led government in Nigeria. This is how we will consolidate our gains and deliver an even more convincing victory in 2027.”

Party Leaders Express Confidence

Also speaking at the meeting were the party’s 2025 Anambra governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu; his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife; and Senatorial by-election figure, Chief Azuka Okwuosa. They described the gathering as the largest APC stakeholders’ assembly since the conclusion of the 2025 governorship election in the state.

The leaders expressed optimism that peace and unity have returned to the Anambra APC, positioning the party strongly ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
