LAGOS, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Dispatch rider killed in a tragic accident on the Apapa–Oshodi Expressway after a diesel tanker rammed into him, with the driver fleeing the scene immediately after the crash.
The incident occurred around the busy Cele Bridge area, where the tanker reportedly collided with the motorcycle, trapping the dispatch rider beneath the heavy vehicle and killing him instantly.
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, the impact was so severe that the victim had no chance of survival. His identity had not been confirmed as of the time of filing this report.
Officials of the agency swiftly secured the scene, placing safety cones and caution tape to prevent further accidents while managing traffic flow along the expressway.
In a disturbing development, the tanker driver abandoned the vehicle and fled, prompting authorities to begin efforts to track him down. The truck has since been handed over to the police for further investigation.
