Awka, Nigeria — The iNews Times | Anambra 2027 election candidates have come under focus as Chief Dozie Nwankwo, a leading contender for the Anambra Central Senatorial seat in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, urged electorates to support only candidates with proven commitment to improving the lives of citizens.
Nwankwo, popularly known as Onyendozi (the builder), made the call while addressing critical stakeholders from the Anambra Central Senatorial Zone at Enugwu-Ukwu on Monday.
He emphasised that the state is currently on a positive trajectory and requires leaders who have demonstrated genuine interest in the welfare of the people.
According to him, his track record during his tenure in the House of Representatives has positioned him as a strong candidate for the Senate, having attracted several life-enhancing projects and programmes to his constituency.
Nwankwo noted that his achievements in the Green Chamber have continued to generate widespread support and calls for his elevation to the Senate.
He said he intends to leverage his experience at the federal level to expand and complete ongoing projects if elected, stressing that the focus should remain on impactful leadership among Anambra 2027 election candidates.
Among his key interventions, Nwankwo highlighted the construction and equipping of a 500-capacity computer laboratory and classroom complex, where beneficiaries are trained in internet communication technology and digital skills.
He added that the facility is currently undergoing expansion to accommodate more computers and participants, in line with growing demand.
The senatorial hopeful also disclosed that he facilitated the establishment of a campus of the Federal College of Agriculture in Anambra State, aimed at boosting agricultural education and development.
In addition, he pointed to his long-standing commitment to healthcare, noting that he has sustained free medical outreach programmes for nearly three decades.
He assured stakeholders that, if elected, he would scale up such initiatives to reach more constituents across the senatorial district.
Nwankwo further pledged to expand his poverty alleviation programmes, including widow support, youth and women empowerment schemes, and other social intervention efforts.
He maintained that leadership should be measured by tangible impact, urging voters to prioritise performance and credibility when assessing Anambra 2027 election candidates.
Stakeholders at the meeting expressed optimism about the 2027 elections, noting that the call for performance-driven leadership reflects growing public demand for accountability and development-focused governance.
