Anambra North backs Soludo

…as Soludo expresses gratitude for overwhelming support from Anambra North.

The iNews Times reports that the people of Anambra North Senatorial Zone on Saturday trouped out enmass at the Otuocha Township Stadium, Aguleri for a rally in support of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

The atmosphere was electric as thousands of supporters from all walks of life came together, united by their belief in Soludo’s vision for a better Anambra.

The event, organized under the auspices of Anambra North Stakeholders Forum; a coalition of current and former elected officials, appointees and key stakeholders from Anambra North, is aptly themed “Sustaining The Solution Legacy; A Path To Disruptive Development In Anambra State”.

The event served not only as a rallying point for political support but also as a celebratory gathering that showcased the community’s aspirations and hopes for the future.

The Governor, on arrival was greeted by over 5,000 ecstatic supporters. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the people of Anambra North.

His words: “Today is a powerful demonstration of our collective resolve to move our state forward,”  Governor Soludo said, emphasizing the need for continuous collaboration between his administration and the populace.

“I am quite excited and surprised that the North Senatorial Zone began this movement officially, even when we have not even set up a campaign council because we are still focused on the work.

“I hear that the politicians are already moving around. When the time comes, we will also campaign as if we are the underdog to an unknown opponent, because we will never take the support of ndị Anambra in vain.

“Anambra state traditional rulers have now formalized the “Oluatuegwu” as a title- a name casually given to me by a woman on the street during one of my usual road inspections.

“I have a history with Anambra North Traditional Rulers. On 17th October, 2020, you invited me and endorsed me to become the Governor of Anambra State.

“Also, immediately I was sworn in, I started work in Anambra North. I deeply appreciate this, ndị Igwe Anambra North. 2025 again, we are beginning this journey in Anambra North.

“We have largely perfected the process of zoning in Anambra state, where each of the three zones produce successive governors.

“I’m telling ndị Anambra, you have not seen anything yet. We will set up a campaign council and at the appropriate time, we will start our campaign.

“For now, we will continue our programmes in Youth development, regenerative agriculture, health, education and others. Anambra is one state, one people, one party, Anambra is APGA land.”

Community leaders, youth representatives, and women’s organizations took turns chanting and addressing the crowd, reiterating their support for the governor.

Reading a communiqué on behalf of Stakeholders in the region, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, took center stage and passed a vote of confidence on the Governor because of what they described as landmark projects in Anambra North courtesy of Governor Soludo.

Among the notable attendees was the APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, who restated total support for Governor Soludo as well as the State Chairman, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye.

Others include Commissioner for Special Duties, Barr. Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche, Member representing Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Lady Maureen Gwacham, Mr. Primus Odili and Engr. Marcel Ifejiofor, who emphasized the importance of engaging the people in governance.

They hinted that Governor Soludo knows this and is committed to creating more opportunities for the people to thrive, eliciting cheers from the crowd.

The event highlighted various initiatives launched by the Soludo administration. One of the standout moments came when the Governor was officially bestowed with the title of; “Oluatuegwu” (one who is not afraid of work), by Traditional Rulers in all communities in the Northern Senatorial district.

As the rally came to a close, many attendees expressed their faith in Soludo’s vision and the direction he is steering the state.

“For the first time in many years, we feel heard. Our communities see hope and are ready to work hand-in-hand with the government,” said a local businesswoman, reflecting the sentiments of many present.
