The iNews Times reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its schedule and fees for the Senatorial and House of Representatives seats in the upcoming 2025 bye-elections.

APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, said aspirants seeking to contest senatorial seats will be required to pay N20 million, while those vying for House of Representatives seats will pay N10 million.

The fee breakdown for the senatorial contest includes N3 million for the Expression of Interest Form and N17 million for the Nomination Form. For House of Representatives aspirants, the Expression of Interest Form will cost N1 million, while the Nomination Form will cost N9 million.

Aspirants contesting for State House of Assembly seats will pay a total fee of N2 million, with N500,000 for the Expression of Interest Form and N1.5 million for the Nomination Form.

The APC has made special provisions for certain groups. Female aspirants and persons living with disabilities will only be required to purchase the Expression of Interest Form, with the Nomination Form provided free. Youths aged between 25 and 40 are entitled to a 50% discount on the Nomination Form fee.

Delegate forms will be sold for N5,000, and delegates intending to vote at the congresses must be financial members of the party with a minimum of three months’ dues at the rate of N200 per month.

Only those who have paid their dues for at least a year up to July 2025 and whose names appear on the membership register will be eligible to vote or be voted for.

The schedule of activities for the bye-elections has been outlined as follows.

The notice of election will be issued on June 30, 2025. The revalidation and update of the membership register will take place from July 1 to July 5, 2025, while the sale of forms will also occur within the same window.

The submission of completed forms and accompanying documents will end on July 7, 2025, and the screening of aspirants is scheduled for July 10, 2025.

The primary elections will be held between July 22 and July 26, 2025, with final candidates to be published on July 26, 2025.

Campaigns will officially commence on July 26, 2025, and end on August 14, 2025, ahead of the bye-elections fixed for August 16, 2025.
