…the Notorious Kidnap suspect was apprehended on 22 November 2025 at Jandei-Kulamu following credible intelligence.

Jalingo, Nigeria — The iNews Times, The 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, operating under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), has arrested a notorious kidnap suspect in the Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. The arrest, achieved under Operation Zafin Wuta, was confirmed in a statement released on Sunday by the Brigade’s Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Lt. Umar Muhammad.

According to the Army, the Notorious Kidnap suspect identified as Umar Musa Geyi was apprehended on 22 November 2025 at Jandei-Kulamu following credible intelligence. Geyi, long on the security watchlist, is believed to be a key figure in a kidnapping syndicate responsible for multiple abductions in the area.

Preliminary investigations have linked him to the 13 November 2025 abduction of Alhaji Jano, a resident of the Jandei-Kulala axis who remains in captivity.

Troops reportedly intercepted Geyi while he was engaged in a phone call, during which he allegedly demanded a ₦20 million ransom from the victim’s family.

The Notorious Kidnap suspect is currently in military custody as efforts intensify to locate the abducted victim and secure his safe release.

Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, praised the troops for their swift, coordinated operation. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to dismantling kidnapping networks and restoring peace in Taraba State, while urging residents to remain vigilant and continue supplying timely, actionable intelligence to security agencies.
