ANAMBRA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Authorities in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State have renamed the popular Limca Road in honour of former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku.
Following the change, the key Limca Road, linking Awka Old Road, Nkpor Junction, the Onitsha-Awka-Enugu Expressway, and Obosi-Umuoji Road will now be called “Ichie Emeka Anyaoku Road.”
Speaking at a brief ceremony held on Wednesday at the Nkpor Junction end of the road, the Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Stanley Nkwoka, said the renaming is meant to celebrate his selfless service and inspire young people to pursue excellence.
