Elon Musk and Donald Trump: Possible Truce After Public Spat

Peace Deal: Elon Musk, Donald Trump to Speak Friday

…the feud began when Elon Musk criticized Trump’s tax and spending bill

A potential reconciliation is underway between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump after a heated public exchange, iNews Times reports.

The feud began when Musk criticized Trump’s tax and spending bill, prompting Trump to threaten to cancel SpaceX and Tesla’s government contracts.

In response to Trump’s threat, Elon Musk initially stated that SpaceX would decommission its Dragon spacecraft, a crucial vehicle for transporting crew and cargo to the International Space Station.

However, after an X user urged both sides to “cool off,” Elon Musk appeared to backed down, and responded “Good advice. Ok, we won’t decommission Dragon”.

Billionaire Bill Ackman also intervened, calling for Elon Musk and Trump to “make peace for the benefit of our great country,” he said.

Elon Musk responded positively, writing “You’re not wrong.” This exchange suggests a willingness from Musk to put the dispute behind him.

According to Politico, the White House has scheduled a call between Musk and Trump to broker a peace deal.

Trump’s aides reportedly persuaded the president to tone down his public criticism of Musk, focusing instead on passing the tax bill through the Senate.

When asked about the dispute, Trump displayed nonchalance, saying “Oh it’s OK” and “It’s going very well, never done better.” He highlighted his favorable ratings, stating they were “through the roof.”

Trump also posted on Truth Social, “I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago,” while emphasizing the tax cut legislation as one of the “Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress”.

As the situation unfolds, both Musk and Trump seem open to reconciliation. The potential truce could have significant implications for US politics, tech, and business landscapes.

With the scheduled call between Musk and Trump, the world watches to see if these influential figures can put their differences aside, iNews Times reports.
