Children adviced to embrace godly virtues

…says they will not make any head way in life without the virtues of common sense, hard work, fear of God and integrity.

Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has advised boys of the state to embrace virtues of hard work, fear of God and integrity to make their future great, iNews Times reports.

The Governor gave the advice at a function to mark the 2025 International Day of the Boy Child organized by the Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation office,(ANCISRO) in collaboration with the  E-Keep As Interprise.

Soludo, represented by Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, who doubled as the Chairman of the occasion, described the theme of the event, “Boys Today, Great Men Tomorrow”as very apt.

While noting that a boy today can be great man tomorrow, the governor called the boys to build and plan for their future now they are  full of energy.

“It is the preparation you make today that will shape your happiness tomorrow. Don’t think your future will be bed of roses without working for it.

“You will not make any head way in life without the virtues of common sense, hard work, fear of God and integrity. Shun all forms of cutting corners as it does not pay in the end.

Soludo challenged the boys to work towards paying back to the state by studying hard to sustain the first positions of which the state is known for both at the national and international examinations in the country.

Your tomorrow is actually what you make it. Enhance the free education we offered you from nursery to senior secondary school level in the state.

“Your failure has started already should you join the Yahoo boys for quick money”, he said.

Delivering his paper, Dr. Akachukwu Maduakolam argued that it takes a lot of knowledge, basic skills to train and shape the future of the Nigerian boys due what he described as societal pressure.

He observed that men are more likely to be independent and involve in violent crimes in the society than the female folks

“It’s no more acceptable for a man to chase his wife away from his house in Anambra because of the law put in place by the Government against the unlawful act meted out to the women over the years.

Earlier, Managing Director, Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation office (ANCISRO), Sir Chuka Nnabuife said the event was put in place by his office with a view to educating the Anambra boys on what it takes to be a good leader and a responsible man in the society.

While recalling that the event holds on 16th May every year, Nnabuife called on Nigerian parents to groom their male child on the rightful path and good virtues.

President-General, Anambra State Association of Town Union, (ASATU), Comrade Ken Okoli advised the boys to embrace good virtues and values capable of making them grow to adulthood seamlessly.

“It takes a family, education and community institutions to collectively raise a child whether a male or a female child in the society.

The event attracted dignitaries including His Grace, Bishop Dr.E.C Obiorah as father of the day, Bishop Moses  Ezedebego, Chairman, State Chapter, Pentecost Followship of Nigeria as the Chief Guest of Honour, school boys drawn from different secondary schools in the state, among others.
