The iNews Times reports that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police to five states: Borno, Cross River, Ondo, Osun, and Jigawa.

This development aims to boost the Nigeria Police Force’s operational efficiency and strengthen leadership at state command levels to enhance the fight against crime in the country.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the postings which took immediate effect are part of the force’s ongoing strategy to ensure professional leadership in critical areas and enhance operational effectiveness.

“These postings are in furtherance of the IGP’s vision to ensure professional leadership in critical areas and enhance the operational effectiveness of the Force,” Adejobi stated.

The newly appointed Commissioners of Police are: CP Naziru D. Abdulmajid – Borno State Command, CP Bello Rasheed Afegbua – Cross River State Command, CP Dahiru Mohammed – Jigawa State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal – Ondo State Command, CP Ibrahim Gotan – Osun State Command.

Additionally, two other senior officers were deployed to key positions: CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo – Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters, while CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin is to proceed to FCID Annex, Gombe State, as CP General Investigation.

The IGP has tasked the newly deployed officers with upholding professionalism and delivering quality leadership in their new roles.

“The IGP charges them to uphold the principles of professionalism and quality leadership towards ensuring their various states are rid of criminal elements who threaten national security,” Adejobi said.
