Lovers’ Quarrel Turns Tragic as Woman Allegedly Stabs Partner in Ondo

ONDO, NIGERIA – The iNews Times reports that the Ondo State Police Command has arrest one Augustina Mowari, over an unfortunate incident that turned tragic on Sunday in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area.

Mowari it was gathered, allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death during a heated argument.

The tragic incident, was reportedly sparked by a confrontation over suspected infidelity.

Speaking on the tragic incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed that the suspect is currently in police custody as investigations are ongoing.

“There was an argument between the two, which led to the suspect stabbing the victim with scissors. He later died in the hospital,” Ayanlade stated.

“The suspect is in our custody, and the case will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.”

A source familiar with the case revealed that the couple had been cohabiting in a one-room apartment and had a history of frequent disagreements, mostly centered on mistrust and accusations of infidelity.

“Both of them had been having issues. The lady accused Michael of cheating on her with another woman, which led to a heated argument,” the source said.

“During the altercation, she reportedly brought out a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the leg.”

Michael was rushed to a nearby hospital and initially received treatment, including injections and medication. He was discharged shortly afterward but later suffered complications at home.

“His leg began to swell, and his condition worsened. He was taken back to the hospital on Sunday night, but despite the doctors’ efforts, he passed away,” the source added.

The police have assured the public that the case will be handled thoroughly and the suspect will be prosecuted in accordance with the law once investigations are concluded.
