LG boss commissioning road project in Obosi

…commends foresight of the initiators of the Road Project.

IDEMILI, NIGERIA – The iNews Times reports that it was jubilation galore at the Electrical Dealers International Market, Obosi, in Idemili North Council Area of Anambra state following official commissioning of new 350 Meters Access Road by the Executive Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Chief Stanley Nkwoka.

The Road tagged ‘Electrical Dealers Obosi By-pass’ was initiated and completed by the traders under the leadership of Amb Chike Onunkwo.

Commissioning the project, Chairman of Council Area, Chief Stanley Nkwoka described the Electrical Dealers as partners in progress with the State government, describing the initiative as a major boost for the Local Government.

He however warned that double taxation and all forms of intimidation were prohibited in any market in the Council Area, in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s policy.

“Coming to commission a legacy project like this one is a plus to us in the APGA led government, especially in this election year because this is an additional road to provide greater access to the market”, he said.

While commending the foresight of the initiators of the Road Project, Nkwoka assured the traders of a business-friendly environment to transact their business, stressing that his administration would not allow anyone to intimidate them.

President General of ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna expressed joy over the impressive performance of those appointed by Mr. Governor to oversee the markets.

“The Chairman of Electrical Dealers International Market Obosi, Ambassador Chike Onunkwo has also done so well in bringing a lot of transformation in the market,” he added.

While urging the traders to remain united to make further progress, the PG reminded them of the importance of keying into the Government’s ‘One Youth Two Skills’ empowerment program aimed at eradicating poverty and fostering productivity in the State.

Earlier, the Electrical Dealers International Market Chairman, Ambassador Chike Onunkwo expressed appreciation to the Union for the opportunity to serve them, and commended the Governor for his legacy projects in the State which he said has made the traders to demand for his second term.

Appreciating the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Commerce, Sir Evaristus Ubah for his support, Onunkwo appealed to the traders to respond positively to the ‘One Youth Two Skills’ initiative for their own good, praying God to bring new set of leaders in the market that would do better than his team.

Speaking separately, Secretary of the Union, Nze Chinedu Ezeibe; Chairman Emeritus, Sir Innocent Muojekwu, and the ASMATA PRO, Chief Emeka Unegbu, among others, described the Access Road Project as a clear testament of their commitment to the growth and development of the market.

They attributed the success of the project to unity and cooperation among the Executive team, the Patrons and Trustees of the market and prayed for continuous peace in the market.

The event also featured the unveiling of Hall of Fame Monuments containing the names of past leaders in the Union.
