Niger Delta throw weight on President Bola Tinubu

…as Otuaro Urges Niger Delta Region to Resist Political Manipulation Ahead of 2027 Polls.

ABUJA, NIGERIA – The iNews Times | The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has pledged the Niger Delta’s unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, declaring that the region will stand firmly behind the president’s re-election bid.

Speaking over the weekend at the closing ceremony of the ‘Stream 1’ Batch 3 three-day Strategic Leadership, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation Training organised by the PAP in collaboration with the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, Otuaro praised the president’s efforts to sustain peace and drive socio-economic growth in the oil-rich region through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“As Niger Delta people, we will support only President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Let us not allow anybody to deceive us that come 2027, there is a new and better agenda. That is not true, and we are wise enough to know,” he said.

He commended Tinubu’s “genuine intentions” in the past two years, pointing to investments in security, infrastructure, human capital development and economic expansion in the Niger Delta. According to him, a second term for Tinubu would consolidate the gains already recorded.

“The President has proved that he has genuine intentions to sustain the peace, security, infrastructure, and human capital development, and the socio-economic advancement in our region. He means well for us, and this is incontrovertible,” Otuaro stated. “Anywhere the President goes, we go. That will be our mandate because the Niger Delta is our agenda.”

The amnesty boss also warned against the antics of what he called “political manipulators” seeking to sow division as the 2027 campaign season draws nearer. He urged stakeholders to remain focused on policies that work for the region and to guard against distractions.

Otuaro concluded by reaffirming the PAP’s commitment to working in synergy with the federal government to maintain peace and development in the Niger Delta, stressing that unity behind the president was in the region’s best interest.
