AWKA, NIGERIA – The iNews Times | NIPR Award Anambra took centre stage as the Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) honoured distinguished personalities with its prestigious 2026 Lifetime Reputation Management Award for their outstanding contributions to the state and humanity.
Among the recipients of the highly respected NIPR Award Anambra, regarded as one of the Institute’s highest honours in professional and public life, were billionaire industrialist Chief Cletus Ibeto, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Anambra State Police Command Tochukwu Ikenga, and the Medical Director of Princeton Specialist Hospital and Orthopedic Center, Awka, Dr. Amaechi Nwachukwu, among others.
According to the Institute, the NIPR Award Anambra recognised Ikenga for his outstanding contributions to professional communication, reputation management, and public service within the policing system and the wider society.
In a statement explaining the selection process, the Institute said the award followed a rigorous multi-level evaluation.

“Ikenga’s unwavering commitment to credibility, integrity, and positive influence clearly distinguished him as a benchmark for reputation excellence and public confidence,” the Institute stated.
The organisers explained that the NIPR Award Anambra is designed to celebrate individuals whose professional conduct and public service have significantly strengthened trust, credibility, and institutional reputation in society.
Receiving the award at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Awka, Ikenga described the recognition as a great honour and a motivation to continue serving the public with dedication and integrity.
He expressed deep appreciation to the Anambra State Police Command and the Nigeria Police Force for the opportunity given to him to serve in such an important capacity.
According to Ikenga, managing communication between the police and the public remains a demanding responsibility that requires constant commitment and professionalism.
“This job is a serious battle that demands serious attention,” he said.
Ikenga also used the opportunity to acknowledge the role of journalists and media professionals in supporting his work as the spokesperson of the command.
“I want to thank the journalists who have supported me in this job. I sincerely appreciate them for their wonderful support,” he added.
