…there is no vacancy in Government House come November, Anambra is APGA.
AWKA, NIGERIA – The iNews Times reports that the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has declared there will be “no vacancy” in the Government House come November 2025 governorship election, as he inaugurated the new operational hub of the Geeks and Founders Alliance for Soludo (GEFAS) in Awka.
Performing the unveiling on behalf of the Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, described the GEFAS facility as a bold testament to youth-driven innovation and grassroots political mobilization powered by technology.
“It’s amazing how this platform is uniting diverse sectors under a common vision of digital transformation for Anambra, all in support of Governor Soludo’s reelection – without seeking a dime from the government,” Chukwulobelu said.
“Our goal is simple: win the November 8 election and sustain good governance for Ndi Anambra. Anambra is APGA, and APGA is Anambra. There is no vacancy in Government House come November,” he added.
He urged GEFAS members to remain steadfast despite political opposition, assuring them of the state government’s collaboration in embedding their digital initiatives into governance for maximum impact.
Also speaking at the event, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, described GEFAS as a strategic campaign arm that blends technology with grassroots mobilization. He said the initiative highlights the evolving role of digital tools in both politics and governance.
“I am optimistic that a second term for Governor Soludo will unlock even more innovative solutions for Ndi Anambra,” Obiogbolu said.
A coordinator with GEFAS, Ms. Odili Jombo, shared insights from the group’s outreach activities. According to her, the GEFAS Call Centre – manned by 21 agents has already contacted over 20,000 Anambra residents, gathering vital feedback on the Governor’s performance.
“We’re excited by the positive reception from Ndi Anambra. Beyond calls, we’ll soon roll out a mobile Wi-Fi bus and other groundbreaking initiatives that will reshape campaign engagement in the state,” she announced.
The event drew a crowd of government officials, tech enthusiasts, media practitioners, and citizens – many expressing amazement at GEFAS’s approach and pledging support for Governor Soludo’s reelection bid.
Speaking on the driving force behind the movement, GEFAS Convener and Managing Director of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, described the group as a catalyst for continuity.
“We are a force for real change, working to transform Anambra from a departure lounge to a destination lounge.
With this new hub, GEFAS reaffirms its commitment to technology-driven engagement that delivers impact and amplifies the Solution Government’s strides,” Agbata stated.
