Obi demands electoral integrity ahead of 2027 general elections

…Obi maintained that individuals who attempt to manipulate or obstruct the process would face the full weight of the law,

‎ANAMBRA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has cautioned Nigerians and electoral officials ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that the sanctity of the ballot must be protected.

‎In a statement posted on his social media platforms on Monday, Obi declared that unlike in previous elections, votes cast in 2027 must be duly counted. He warned that anyone who fails to ensure that votes are properly counted would be regarded as contributing to the nation’s decline and undermining democracy.

He urged citizens to remain at their polling units after casting their ballots to monitor the counting and transmission of results. Obi maintained that individuals who attempt to manipulate or obstruct the process would face the full weight of the law, reiterating that those who refuse to count the people’s votes would be held accountable for sabotaging Nigeria’s democratic future.
