…The Sokoto State Government welcomed the Nigeria–US security collaboration,

SOKOTO, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | The Sokoto State Government has confirmed that a joint airstrike by Nigerian and United States forces struck terrorist hideouts in Tangaza Local Government Area, with no civilian casualties reported.

The confirmation was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Director-General of Media and Publicity, Government House, Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out on Wednesday as part of sustained efforts to weaken terrorist and bandit networks operating in Sokoto State and along the North-West border.

Bawa said assessments were still ongoing to determine the full impact of the strike, as reports from joint military operations had yet to be received.

The government also addressed public concerns over the discovery of suspicious objects near Jabo town in Tambuwal Local Government Area, explaining that investigations were still in progress.

He noted that analysis by Nigeria–US military authorities was being awaited to clarify the nature of the objects but stressed that no civilian casualties were recorded in either Tangaza or Jabo communities.

The Sokoto State Government welcomed the Nigeria–US security collaboration, describing it as vital to tackling terrorism and cross-border crimes.

It reiterated its commitment to supporting security agencies, noting that it has provided equipment and operational assistance over the past two years to strengthen security in the state.

Residents were urged to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies by providing credible intelligence, and continue supporting efforts to restore peace and safety across the state.
