Aba, Nigeria — The iNews Times, tragedy struck on Saturday at the Osisioma Umuimo area of Aba, Abia State, as a road accident involving multiple vehicles claimed the life of a young female child.

The crash involved a Lexus 330 sport utility vehicle, a commercial tricycle popularly known as keke, and a long truck transporting goods.

A transporter who witnessed the incident, Mr. Igwe Nwoke, explained that the tricycle, which was carrying several passengers, collided with the SUV while attempting to avoid a truck approaching from the opposite direction.

“Some of the passengers were seriously injured, including a little child who became unconscious,” Nwoke said.

He expressed concern over what he described as increasing recklessness among road users, noting that dangerous driving habits continue to contribute to avoidable accidents.

Confirming the incident to iNews Times on Monday, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abia State, Ngozi Ezeoma, said one female child lost her life in the crash.

“One female child died. The crash happened at Osisioma Umuimo by Kentus Filling Station, involving a Lexus Jeep 330 and a keke,” Ezeoma stated.

The FRSC has urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent further loss of lives on Nigerian roads.
