LAGOS, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | A lone truck accident occurred on Monday near Foursquare Camp along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, reportedly killing six people, injuring 23, and killing 29 cows.
The crash involved a white-and-blue DAF CF 380 truck with registration number SNA 287 XA. Preliminary reports indicate that fatigue and excessive speed may have caused the incident. The trailer, believed to have traveled from northern Nigeria to Lagos State, was reportedly carrying passengers and around 35 cows.
The injured and deceased were taken to Oreoluwa Hospital at GOFAMINT Camp, Ogunmakin, and Victory Hospital in Ogere.
Afolabi Odunsi-Oyewole, spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the crash in a statement, noting that it occurred at about 11:27 a.m. and that rescue teams arrived within two minutes. He added that 29 people were involved, with six fatalities and 23 injuries.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the mechanical and other factors that led to the crash. Meanwhile, the FRSC urged motorists, particularly those operating heavy-duty vehicles, to regularly service their vehicles, maintain safe speeds, observe road safety regulations, and avoid driving while fatigued.
