…“We should not be afraid that the US might go too far.
ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 northern states, Rev. John Hayab, has endorsed the United States airstrikes against terrorists in Sokoto State.
Speaking in an interview with the iNews Times, Hayab dismissed concerns that the U.S. military action could exceed acceptable limits, noting that the terrorists themselves had long crossed such boundaries.
“We should not be afraid that the United States might go too far. The terrorists have already gone too far,” he said.
He called for the intervention to continue without interruption until terrorist elements are completely eliminated from affected communities, adding that Nigerian government officials had confirmed the operation was carried out through collaboration aimed at eradicating terrorism.
Hayab also revealed that extensive consultations and engagements had taken place between the Nigerian and United States governments following the tweet by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to him, Nigerians would welcome any assistance that helps bring an end to the persistent killings perpetrated by bandits and terrorists across the country.
“Our Association believes that President Tinubu’s declaration of armed groups killing innocent Nigerians as terrorists marks the beginning of a functional security emergency,” he said.
He further urged that the collaboration with the United States should not be a one-off action but a sustained effort until every terrorist is defeated and eliminated in Nigeria.
