US-Israel Iran Conflict Sparks Global Outcry, Calls for Peace

…reports indicate that the US-Israel Iran conflict has drawn sharp reactions globally.

New York, United States — The iNews Times reports that the US-Israel Iran conflict has triggered urgent global reactions, with world leaders calling for restraint, immediate ceasefire efforts and renewed diplomacy amid rising fears of a broader Middle East war.

The escalation followed coordinated military strikes by the United States and Israel on multiple targets across Tehran and other Iranian cities. US President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday that American forces were engaged in what he described as a “major combat operation” aimed at eliminating threats from the Iranian regime. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the operation was intended to neutralise what he called an “existential threat.”

Reuters, citing a senior Israeli defence official and reported by Al Jazeera, indicated that the joint US-Israeli strikes had been planned for months, with a specific launch date decided weeks earlier.

Iran’s foreign ministry accused both countries of violating the United Nations Charter and pledged a strong response. Tehran has since launched retaliatory missile attacks targeting Israel and US military assets in Gulf nations including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait. A senior Iranian official told Al Jazeera that all American and Israeli interests in the region are now considered legitimate targets, declaring that “there are no red lines after this aggression.”

The US-Israel Iran conflict has drawn sharp reactions globally, particularly from Gulf states where US bases are located and where Iranian missiles have reportedly struck or been intercepted.

How the World Reacted

European Union

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa described the escalation as “greatly concerning,” urging all sides to exercise maximum restraint, protect civilians and respect international law.

Qatar

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned Iran’s missile strike on its territory, where the Al Udeid Air Base hosts US military personnel. Doha described the attack as a violation of sovereignty and said it reserves the right to respond under international law.

Belgium

Belgium’s Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot stated that the Iranian people “should not suffer because of their government’s decisions.”

Oman

Oman, a key mediator in US-Iran negotiations, expressed regret that diplomatic talks failed to prevent violence. Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi warned that the conflict benefits neither the United States nor global peace and urged Washington to avoid deeper involvement.

Norway

Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth said Israel’s initial strike did not align with international law, arguing that preventive attacks are only justified in the face of an immediate and clear threat.

France

President Emmanuel Macron called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting, warning that the escalation carries “serious consequences” for global security. He urged Iran to resume serious negotiations over its nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.

United Arab Emirates

The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that several Iranian projectiles were intercepted by air defence systems and described the attack as a dangerous escalation threatening civilian safety.

Bahrain

Bahrain reported that an Iranian missile struck the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet, calling the action treacherous.

Kuwait

Kuwait described the missile strike on its territory as a violation of international law and warned that further escalation would worsen regional instability.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia strongly condemned Iran’s missile attacks on Gulf states and warned of serious consequences.

Pakistan

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar criticised what he described as unnecessary attacks on Iran and called for an immediate halt to escalation, stressing the need to restart diplomatic dialogue.

Ukraine

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry blamed Iran for triggering the chain of events leading to the crisis, citing its crackdown on protests and what it described as systemic violence.
