‎…Wike described the President’s role as that of a father and peacemaker,

‎‎ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s recent intervention in the political crisis involving Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, should mark the last time the President would have to step in to resolve the dispute.

‎Wike made the remark on Tuesday while speaking with journalists after inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects in the FCT, days after President Tinubu facilitated another peace meeting between him and Governor Fubara at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Sunday night.

‎Speaking on the Rivers State crisis, Wike described the President’s role as that of a father and peacemaker, but cautioned that such interventions should not become frequent.

‎According to him, President Tinubu had shown great understanding toward the people of Rivers State by intervening when tensions arose between the executive and the legislature.

‎“This is the second time Mr President has intervened, and by the grace of God, this will be the last,” Wike said. “I have directed the Assembly to comply with the President’s decision, which I am confident they will do. I also believe this should be the final time such issues will dominate public discourse.”
