‎…“Police and other Security agencies will continue to intensify operations to detect, track, and decisively deal with criminals, regardless of where they attempt to operate or hide,” Jimoh said.

‎‎ONDO, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | The Ondo State Police Command has reported that a coordinated inter-agency operation on Sunday led to the arrest of 99 suspects involved in various criminal activities across the state.

‎DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the Ondo state Police command spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Monday in Akure.

‎Jimoh explained that the operation was a joint effort involving the Ondo State Police Command, the 32 Brigade Artillery of the Nigerian Army, and the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Other participating agencies included the Directorate of State Services (DSS) and the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps.

‎“The intelligence-driven operation targeted known criminal hideouts, hotspots, and flashpoints across several areas of the state notorious for criminal activities,” he said.

‎“The coordinated raid resulted in the arrest of 99 individuals suspected of crimes such as armed robbery, burglary, theft, cultism, and other related offences. Several items believed to have been used for criminal activities, along with stolen property and other incriminating evidence, were recovered from the suspects.

‎“The arrested persons are currently undergoing screening and profiling. Those found guilty will be prosecuted accordingly,” Jimoh added.

‎The spokesperson further noted that the state Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, commended the professionalism, synergy, and dedication displayed by all participating security agencies during the operation.

‎According to Jimoh, the CP emphasized that such collaboration is vital in the fight against crime and reiterated the command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and joint security operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and maintaining law and order.

‎Lawal also warned criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities, stressing that Ondo State would not serve as a safe haven for offenders. “Security agencies will continue to intensify operations to detect, track, and decisively deal with criminals, regardless of where they attempt to operate or hide,” Jimoh said.

‎He called on the public to continue providing timely, credible, and actionable information to security agencies. “Community cooperation is crucial to sustaining peace and security in the state. The command assures the public that no effort will be spared to ensure that all perpetrators of crime are brought to justice,” the spokesperson added.

‎It was reported on Friday that the command also arrested four suspected kidnappers linked to a violent attack along Liberty Avenue in Ilu-Abo, which led to the death of a resident and the abduction of a woman. Jimoh confirmed that the suspects were connected to the January 26 incident, during which John Ofuduwa was killed and Oladeinde Tomilola was kidnapped and later released.
