‎In a statement issued early Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Kenneth Daso, said the explosions occurred at about 7:24 p.m., describing the incident as devastating.

‎Police stated that, “Preliminary findings show the attacks were carried out by suspected suicide bombers. Sadly, 23 persons were killed, while 108 others sustained varying degrees of injuries,” he said.

‎Following the blasts, a joint team comprising police tactical units, the military, and other security agencies was swiftly deployed to secure the affected areas. The Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit also carried out comprehensive sweeps to avert further threats.

‎The Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, visited the scenes, sympathising with victims and assuring residents of the command’s resolve to safeguard lives and property.

‎Emergency responders, including the National Emergency Management Agency and the Borno State Emergency Management Agency, evacuated the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.

‎Meanwhile, the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, said the attacks were aimed at causing mass casualties and spreading fear among residents.

‎Lt. Col. Sani Uba stated that troops, alongside police EOD teams and other security agencies, responded promptly to secure the sites and support rescue efforts.

‎Residents have been advised to stay calm but alert, avoid crowded places where possible, and report any suspicious movements or objects.

‎Authorities added that investigations are ongoing to track down those responsible and prevent further attacks, reaffirming their commitment to restoring lasting peace in the region.
