KANO, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Bayero University Kano (BUK) has announced the death of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, wife of former Vice-Chancellor of the institution and ex-Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega.
In a statement shared on its official social media page on Sunday, the university confirmed her passing, though it did not disclose the cause of death.
BUK expressed condolences to the family and offered prayers for the repose of her soul.
The institution also announced that her Janazah prayer would be held immediately after Zuhr prayer at the National Mosque Abuja on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The university prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased, asking that her shortcomings be forgiven and that she be granted eternal rest.
