The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, was on Wednesday honored with the Inspector General of Police Award, iNews Times reports.

This prestigious recognition is a testament to SP Ikenga’s exceptional dedication and commitment to excellence in policing.

The award ceremony held in Abuja, attended by top police officials and dignitaries, highlighted the outstanding contributions of SP Ikenga and the Anambra State Police Command.

In his acceptance speech, SP Ikenga attributed his success to the collective effort of officers and men of the Command, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving excellence.

“This award is not a trophy because it was never a lone effort but a collaborative effort of Officers and men of the Anambra State Police Command in a renewed vision and deeper resolve to mark a new beginning of their journey towards excellence,” Ikenga said.

SP Ikenga expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Police Management Team, and the people of Anambra State for their support. He also thanked the members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm for their unwavering support and belief in the Command.

The award serves as a commitment and reaffirmation of the Anambra State Police Command’s dedication to protecting with courage and serving with compassion.

SP Ikenga emphasized the importance of public trust and feedback, stating, “My greatest resource is the trust of the people we serve and we are ready to serve you better.

Please don’t get tired of assessing us. It is from your comments that inform most of the decisions we take as a Command.”

The Anambra State Police Command has been recognized for its renewed vision and dedication to excellence.

The award reflects the Command’s efforts to enhance police-citizen engagement and professionalism.

In his concluding remarks, the PPRO said, “Given the above, the award is a commitment and reaffirmation of the Anambra State Police Command towards greater dedication to protect with courage and serve with compassion.”

The award is a testament to SP Ikenga’s hard work and commitment to serving the people of Anambra State.

The Command looks forward to continued collaboration with the public and the media to build a safer and more secure community, he said.
