‎Anambra Strengthens Digital Justice System, Trains Court Reporters in AI

‎…underscoring Anambra state commitment to modernising court procedures

‎‎ANAMBRA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Anambra State has stepped up efforts to digitise its judiciary through a strategic partnership between the state judiciary, the Ministry of Justice, and LexTech Ecosystem Limited to train 41 verbatim court reporters in AI-driven transcription technology.

‎The 41 trainees graduated in the second batch of the programme, underscoring Anambra state commitment to modernising court procedures and improving institutional efficiency through innovation.

‎Speaking at the graduation ceremony held at the State High Court Hall in Awka, the Chief Executive Officer of LexTech Ecosystem Limited, Emeka Albert, said the initiative is transforming the justice sector by automating court processes, boosting operational efficiency, and replacing manual systems with digital solutions such as the Innovative Case Management System and verbatim reporting tools.

‎Albert noted that the programme represents a strategic investment in human capital aimed at building a technology-enabled judiciary capable of delivering faster and more transparent justice. He described the graduation as “a consolidation of vision,” attributing the progress to the reform-driven leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in advancing digital innovation across key sectors in Anambra state, including the justice system.

‎Addressing the graduates, he congratulated them as the second cohort of what he described as a landmark reform in Anambra’s justice administration. He said they had been certified in the use of LEXSCRIPTSAI, an AI-powered speech-to-text transcription tool designed to enhance the speed, accuracy, and integrity of court reporting.

‎According to him, the certification positions them at the intersection of law and technology, equipping them with skills aligned with global best practices in modern judicial administration. He added that beyond transcription, they are now custodians of official court records and key contributors to a justice system that is more efficient, transparent, and accountable.

‎Albert also commended the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Onochie Anyaachebelu, for promoting innovation within the judiciary. He acknowledged the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Sylvia Ifemeje, alongside members of the Judicial ICT Committee and the Chief Registrar, for providing the institutional backing that ensured the project’s success.

‎In his remarks, Anyaachebelu praised the collaboration between LexTech and the state government, describing the initiative as a transformative step in judicial administration. He emphasised that accurate court records are fundamental to justice delivery, noting that judges, lawyers, litigants, and appellate courts rely heavily on dependable transcripts.

‎He further stated that the newly trained reporters would undergo additional orientation before fully integrating into the judicial workforce, expressing confidence that their competence and professionalism would drive measurable improvements across courts in Anambra.

‎The ceremony ended with the presentation of awards, gifts, and souvenirs to outstanding trainees.
