Awka, Nigeria — The iNews Times | Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State on Monday presented a N757.8 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the State Assembly, marking a 24.1% increase over the 2025 budge. Tagged “Changing Gears 3.0: Solution Continues,” the budget underscores the administration’s intensified focus on execution and development priorities.
Recurrent expenditure is projected at ₦162.6 billion, reflecting a 16.6% growth compared with last year, while capital expenditure of ₦595.3 billion represents a 26.3% increase. Governor Soludo highlighted allocations across key sectors: Administrative (12.2%), Economic (26.7%), Social (31.4%), Education (46.9%), Health (13%), and Infrastructure Investments (27.7%).
The governor said these allocations signal the government’s commitment to strengthening human capital, boosting economic growth, and expanding critical infrastructure across Anambra State.
