‎…‎Dagogo is asking the court to stop all activities relating to the convention, citing his alleged exclusion from the process.

‎ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Fubara Dagogo, aspirant for the position of National Vice Chairman (South South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja that could potentially derail the party’s scheduled National Convention on March 27–28.

‎Dagogo is asking the court to stop all activities relating to the convention, citing his alleged exclusion from the process.

‎The aspirant, who serves as Director-General of the APC States Assembly Forum (ASAF), claimed he was denied access to expression of interest and nomination forms despite paying the required N5.1 million fee and fulfilling all stipulated conditions.

‎According to him, even after receiving clearance from the party’s finance department, efforts to obtain the nomination forms proved unsuccessful, prompting his decision to seek legal redress as a committed member of the party.

‎In the suit, marked FHC/ABJ/C8/591/2026, Dagogo is seeking judicial interpretation of issues surrounding the APC’s internal processes, including the validity of his payment receipt and compliance with provisions of the party’s constitution and schedule of activities.

‎Named as defendants in the case are the APC, its National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda; the incumbent National Vice Chairman (South South), Victor Giadom; and the National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Mohammed Argungu.

‎The plaintiff is requesting several reliefs from the court, including an injunction to stop the South South zonal congress scheduled for March 25, 2026.

‎He is also asking the court to affirm his eligibility to contest, declare any outcome of the congress invalid if he remains excluded, and nullify any emergence of a candidate for the position conducted without his participation.

‎Additionally, Dagogo is seeking N100 million in damages against some of the defendants for alleged embarrassment and emotional distress.

‎As of the time of filing this report, no hearing date has been fixed for the case.
