Iran Attacks US and Israel, as Tehran Calls on UN to Condemn Aggression

…Historic Escalation as Iran Attacks US and Israel, Tehran Defends Sovereignty.

Tehran, Iran — The iNews Times reports that Iran attacks US and Israel following what it described as “criminal military aggression” against its territory, vowing a firm and decisive response from its armed forces. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused the US and Israel of striking defensive infrastructure and civilian locations across several Iranian cities, claiming the attacks violated the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The ministry’s statement, made available on Saturday, said the alleged strikes occurred on the eve of Nowruz and the tenth day of Ramadan. It described the actions by the United States and the “Zionist regime” as a blatant violation of international law. Iran insisted it had re-entered diplomatic negotiations despite awareness of the potential for military aggression, aiming to exhaust all avenues before the international community.

“This morning, the United States and the Zionist regime flagrantly violated Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty by attacking a number of targets,” the ministry said, adding that the Iranian people “did everything necessary to prevent war.” It declared that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are “more prepared than ever to defend Iran’s sovereignty” and will respond decisively to repel the aggression.

Citing Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter, Iran argued that the strikes constitute a clear violation of international law, describing them as “a clear act of armed aggression.” The ministry maintained that responding under Article 51 of the UN Charter is Iran’s lawful and legitimate right.

In the statement, Tehran also called on the United Nations Security Council and its members to take immediate action to address the breach of international peace and security. It urged member states, particularly regional and Islamic countries, as well as the Non-Aligned Movement, to condemn the attack and take urgent measures in response.

The ministry described the situation as historic and decisive, asserting that “history bears witness that Iranians have never bowed to foreign aggression. This time, too, the response of the Iranian nation will be firm and decisive.”
