Nollywood actor Linc Edochie has explained the reasons behind his breakup with his wife Yinka Theisen, The iNews Times reports.
Linc and Yinka called it quits less than one month after their wedding was announced.
Yinka took to her official Instagram account to announce the breakup, writing: “In all things we say thank you Lord! My relationship with Linc is over. No hard feelings at all. I am very sad but in all things we thank God.”
The development came after Yinka released May Yul-Edochie’s phone number on social media, sparking retaliatory actions from May’s supporters. Linc responded to the drama, stating that he is choosing peace over a “landmine” union.
The union between Linc Edochie and Yinka was announced earlier this month by Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation magazine. However, weeks after the announcement, Yinka began publicly criticizing May, the estranged wife of Linc’s brother Yul Edochie. Her action prompted backlash and threats from May’s fans.
Reacting to the drama, Linc took to his social media handle to exonerate himself from the drama. He wrote: “I usually don’t make careless speeches but I want to set the record straight. I am a man of peace and value my sanity.”
Linc Edochie clarified that he never endorsed the attack on May, stating: “For the records, I did not endorse the recent attacks on May neither did I endorse posting her number online which has triggered meaningless retaliation. We may not all agree with each other but we can respect one another…Better to be alone and at peace than to be in a union filled with landmines. Respect.”
The couple has since unfollowed each other on Instagram, confirming their separation.
