…Urging them to utilize training acquired from NYSC SAED to create employment for themselves.

The iNews Times reports that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has charged corps members to leverage the training received through the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program.

Anambra State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua gave the advice during a low-key Passing Out ceremony in Awka South Local Government Area of the state.

She urged them to utilize the SAED training to create employment for themselves and contribute to national growth.

“Utilize the training acquired from NYSC SAED to create employment for yourselves and contribute to national growth,” she said.

Representing the Chairman of Awka South LGA, the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Paul Ifeme, echoed the call for national dedication.

He urged the corps members to remain patriotic citizens, shun criminal activities and consistently uphold values of good ambassadorship.

“Avoid crimes and vices, and remain good ambassadors,” Hon. Ifeme stated.

Reinforcing the message of self-sufficiency, Special Assistant to the Awka South LGA Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Ikebudu also encouraged the Corps members to focus on creating jobs using their acquired skills rather than solely seeking traditional white-collar employment.

The Passing Out ceremony spanned all 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State and held at designated Zonal offices . Official figures released confirm:

*   Male Corps Members: 587

*   Female Corps Members: 872

*   Total Passed Out: 1,308

The core activity during the Awka South ceremony, mirrored across the state, was the issuance of Certificates of National Service to deserving Corps members who successfully completed their service year.

A notable highlight of the Awka South event was the presentation of a Commendation Letter to Corps Member Lawal Toafeek Ayodeji (State Code: AN/24B/1076), recognizing his outstanding performance and contributions during the service year.

The ceremony marks the formal transition of these 1,308 young Nigerians from national service into the next phase of their careers, carrying with them the expectations of utilizing their NYSC experiences and skills for personal advancement and national development.

The occasion also featured brief remarks from state Coordinator and local government officials, all emphasizing self-reliance, patriotism, and the application of skills acquired during service.
