According to reports, the former governor was permitted to attend the funeral rites of his late mother, Umma El-Rufai, who passed away in Cairo, Egypt.

The compassionate release was reportedly approved in light of the family’s loss, although the ICPC has not publicly outlined the specific terms or conditions attached to the bail.

As of the time of filing this report, it remains uncertain whether he will continue on temporary bail or be remanded back into ICPC custody pending further court rulings.
