ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has returned to the Federal High Court for the continuation of his trial over alleged financial improprieties.
El-Rufai was observed arriving at the court premises amid a strong but orderly security presence, with officials maintaining close surveillance as proceedings resumed.
His reappearance follows a temporary release granted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
According to reports, the former governor was permitted to attend the funeral rites of his late mother, Umma El-Rufai, who passed away in Cairo, Egypt.
The compassionate release was reportedly approved in light of the family’s loss, although the ICPC has not publicly outlined the specific terms or conditions attached to the bail.
