…DPO of ‘B’ Division in Lafia received an emergency alert about an armed robbery in progress.

Lafia, Nigeria – The iNews Times reports that in a swift pre-dawn operation, officers of the Nasarawa State Police Command have apprehended two suspected armed robbers and recovered a stolen vehicle following a coordinated response to a distress call in Lafia.

Spokesperson for the Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, revealed the development in a statement issued on Sunday.

According to the police PPRO, the incident occurred at around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘B’ Division in Lafia received an emergency alert about an armed robbery in progress at a residence in Shinge by Railway Quarters.

The robbery gang reportedly fled the scene with a Toyota Corolla, bearing registration number GRU 106 AE, and a Jincheng motorcycle.

“In a swift and coordinated response, the DPO and his patrol team mobilised to the scene,” Nansel said.

“Acting on intelligence, they intercepted and arrested two suspects – Basiru Lawal ‘M’ of Rogo LGA, Kano State, and Dahiru Mohammed ‘M’ of Shinge Quarters, Lafia–at Jibo Filling Station along Jos Road, Lafia, in possession of the stolen Toyota Corolla.”

Efforts, according to the police, are ongoing to track down the remaining suspect(s) and recover the stolen motorcycle.

Reacting to the successful operation, Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the professionalism and prompt action of the officers involved.

CP Mohammed reaffirmed the command’s dedication to ensuring the safety of lives and property in Nasarawa State.

He further urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperative by reporting suspicious movements and criminal activity to the nearest police station.
