…the suspected fraudsters were found in possession of the goods they obtained from the victim.

Police in Anambra have arrested two suspects involved in defrauding their victim of two trucks load of cement worth N17million, iNews Times reports.

Spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga who disclosed this on Sunday said the suspects were apprehended by Police operatives attached to the 33 Police Station.

He said the suspects, Nnanna Charles and Okoye Chukwunonso were found in possession of the goods they obtained from one Edwin Emeka who had been in communication with the victim.

He said, “Following a complaint received by Police Operatives attached to the 33 Police Station on how one Edwin Emeka of unknown address defrauded an unsuspecting member of the public of two trucks load of cement worth Seventeen million naira only, arrested one Nnanna Charles and Okoye Chukwunonso in possession of the rip-off goods.

“The victim met Edwin online and has been in communication with him. Immediately the cement was supplied, all attempts to get to Edwin proved abortive before the Police Operatives traced the goods to different shops in the State.

“The two suspects are currently undergoing interrogations to provide more information on how to arrest Edwin and other syndicate members.

“The case highlights the importance of vigilance especially those we meet online for business transactions and other personal engagements to prevent harm or loss of life and property.

“The Case shall be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigations.”
