The iNews Times reports that the National Examinations Council (NECO) has issued a warning to the public about a fraudulent Facebook account created in the name of its Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi.
The iNews Times learnt that the fake account is being used to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
The Council’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Azeez Sani, in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, alerted the public to the existence of the fake account.
“The Council wishes to alert the public to the existence of this fake Facebook account to prevent individuals from falling victim to these fraudsters,” Sani said.
Sani confirmed that security agencies have been notified, and appropriate action will be taken against those responsible for this fraudulent activity.
NECO urges the public to be cautious and verify information through official channels before responding to any requests or messages allegedly from the Council or its officials.
