Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, who hails from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Before her appointment, she served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Anambra State, where she played a central role in mobilising, planning, and allocating state resources to drive socio-economic development. Her tenure in that office was marked by strategic reforms aimed at improving fiscal discipline and enhancing development outcomes.

As Commissioner, she also held several key leadership positions across important state boards and initiatives, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board, and the Small Business Agency.

In addition to her responsibilities in government, she served as Chairman of Solution Fun City Limited, further demonstrating her capacity to manage both policy-driven and commercial initiatives.

Her role extended to serving as the state’s Reform Champion for Ease of Doing Business, where she coordinated reforms designed to improve Anambra’s business environment and attract investment. She also functioned as the focal person for Social Investment Programmes, driving initiatives aimed at inclusive growth and social protection.

At the national level, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake currently serves as Nigeria Chairperson for the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) Programme, where she contributes to policy direction and implementation strategies focused on human capital development.

Chiamaka Nnake’s appointment also reflects her strong background in private sector consulting. Prior to joining public service, she worked as a Senior Strategy Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria, where she led over 30 client engagements across both local and international markets.

Her work at PwC spanned multiple sectors, including financial services, government, public sector, and agriculture. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she received the firm’s CEO Award in 2021.

During her time at PwC, she played a pivotal role in the development of Anambra Vision 2070, a comprehensive 50-year development blueprint designed to guide the state’s long-term transformation. She also provided technical support for the Combined Transition Plan, which has remained a cornerstone of the current administration’s governance strategy.

Earlier in her career, she worked as a Business Analyst at IHS Towers, a leading telecommunications infrastructure company operating across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

She also served as an Equity Research Analyst at Meristem Securities Limited, where she covered publicly listed pharmaceutical and consumer goods companies on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, gaining valuable experience in financial analysis and capital markets.

Academically, Mrs Nnake holds a First-Class degree in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University and an MBA from Lagos Business School, where she earned the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma lifetime recognition for academic excellence.

She is also a member of the ACCA National Advisory Committee and has passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme. In further pursuit of academic and professional excellence, she has completed executive programmes, including the Implementing Public Policy programme at Harvard Kennedy School, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy.

At 39, Mrs  Chiamaka Nnake brings a blend of youthful energy and extensive professional experience to her new role as SSG, a position widely regarded as central to the coordination of government activities and policy implementation.

The appointment has been seen by observers as a strategic move by the Soludo administration to strengthen governance structures and sustain ongoing reforms across key sectors of the state’s economy.

Married with three children, Chiamaka Nnake is expected to bring her wealth of experience to bear in supporting the administration’s development agenda.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, on March 23, 2026.
