…as Nwoko vowed to pursue justice decisively.
Senator Ned Nwoko has threatened to take legal steps to prosecute social media influencer Timothy Gabriel, aka Tuma, for making what he described as defamatory and false allegations against him and his wife, Regina Daniels, The iNews Times reports.
Nwoko in a statement issued through his Media Directorate accused Gabriel of intentionally spreading misinformation to incite the public and damage their reputations.
“Gabriel not only spewed defamatory lies about Regina and me, but did so repeatedly with the intent to provoke and destroy,” Nwoko said.
The Senator noted that Gabriel openly dared him to respond and invited legal action. He said the challenge has now been taken up, and his legal team is preparing to pursue criminal defamation and civil lawsuits.
He warned against using activism or free speech as a shield for character assassination, insisting that “the internet is not above the law.”
“Those who amplify or excuse such behavior under the guise of human rights should know—freedom of expression does not give you the right to lie or destroy,” he said.
Nwoko vowed to pursue justice decisively, saying the matter would be resolved not through social media battles but in court, backed by evidence and law.
