…“The PDP has complained about judges who appear to be biased against us,” Ehilebo said.
LAGOS, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Anthony Ehilebo, a member of the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Taminu Turaki, has accused judges handling the party’s legal dispute of showing bias against them.
Ehilebo made the allegation on Monday while speaking during a live broadcast on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme.
His comments came in reaction to Monday’s ruling by the Court of Appeal, which dismissed the appeal filed by the Turaki-led faction.
The appellate court also affirmed the earlier judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered on October 31, 2025, which barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the outcome of the PDP’s 2025 National Convention.
Responding to the development, Ehilebo said the faction had repeatedly raised concerns over what it described as bias by some judges handling the case.
“The PDP has complained about judges who appear to be biased against us,” he said.
He further alleged that the case before Justice James Omotosho was undermined due to actions by the party’s then National Legal Adviser, who he claimed attempted to sabotage the proceedings and was allowed to do so by the presiding judge.
Ehilebo added that the faction had written to the Chief Justice of Nigeria requesting that Justice Abdulmalik Joyce, Justice Lifu, and Justice Omotosho recuse themselves from handling any matters involving the group.
