Manhunt for a suspected internet fraudster, popularly known as “Yahoo boy,” has been initiated by the Bayelsa State Police Command, iNews Times reports.

The suspect was declared wanted in connection with the death of an unidentified young girl found in a hotel in the Igbogene area of Yenagoa, the state capital.

According to sources, the deceased and the suspected Yahoo boy had lodged in the hotel together on Saturday.

However, the suspect allegedly fled the hotel shortly after, leaving the girl behind.

The hotel manager discovered the lifeless body and promptly reported the incident to the Igbogene Divisional Police Headquarters.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Musa Muhammad, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, stated that an investigation is currently underway to apprehend the culprits and determine the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.

Muhammad assured that an autopsy would be conducted to ascertain the cause of her death.

The incident has raised concerns in the community, and the police are working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice.
