Awka, Nigeria — The iNews Times | Soludo second term as Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has described his first tenure and re-election for another four years as divinely ordained for the people of the state.
He said he could not have become governor at a better time than when he emerged, appreciating God for the privilege to serve.
Speaking on Sunday during a thanksgiving service for the successful inauguration of his new administration, Soludo said the occasion was to hand over the second term to God.
He said, “Exactly last week, we were at the International Convention Centre (ICC) to thank God for the successful completion of four years in office.
“Today, the Sunday following the oath of office, we are here to thank God for the successful inauguration and oath-taking, and to hand over the entire second tenure to Him.
“Anambra is in the hands of God; this government is one ordained by God for this moment for Ndị Anambra.
“From the Gospel we heard today about Jesus and Lazarus, God is never late. His time is the right time when it pleased Him that we should serve the people, and we owe Him every gratitude.
“During the campaign, we prayed God to bless us beyond our imagination so we can leave the state better than we met it. That He has done because we offered ourselves willingly to serve.
“We continue to pray for life, health, wisdom, and courage to do the right. Anambra will continue to rise in the next four years.”
Reflecting on the journey so far, the governor said his second term would focus on consolidating gains recorded in the first tenure.
Appreciating various stakeholders for their partnership during the first term, Soludo urged increased support for greater performance in the new tenure.
He also thanked his cabinet members, whom he referred to as the Solution Team, for their sacrifice, saying, “God did not make a mistake in bringing us together to serve and contribute to the development of the state.
“Let me also thank the Presidency, the Federal Government, the international community, the private sector, the Church, particularly the Catholic, Anglican, and Pentecostal, the clergy and laity, traditional rulers, community leaders, and our productive youths.
“You have stood with us through thick and thin. Let us do it together in this second term to continue to make the state proud.”
