…ANSEC christened the new Anambra Government House “Light House Awka,” in keeping with Anambra State’s slogan, “Light of the Nation.”
Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration has named the newly constructed Anambra Government House Mini City, “Light House Awka,” iNews Times reports.
Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor who disclosed this on Tuesday said the name was part of decisions reached at the 10th meeting of the Anambra state Executive Council held on Monday.
He said the decision was in keeping with Anambra State’s slogan, “Light of the Nation.”
Mefor revealed that the council also explored how to completely restore Anambra society, reshape its moral and social structures, and establish the project as a lasting legacy of the Soludo administration.
He listed some of the projects awarded during the meeting to include: Construction of Warehouse for Pharmaceutical Grade Kaolin at Anambra State Kaolin Plant and Supply and Installation of a 750 KVA Transformer at Anambra State Kaolin Plant, all in Ukpor.
Also approved was procurement and Supply of Official Uniforms and Operational Gears to Operations Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade.
The statement reads in part, “The 10th ANSEC meeting and the 3rd to be held in the new Anambra government house on June 2, 2025, took the following key decisions:
1. “Light House Awka” is the name of the new Anambra Government House Mini City. After deliberating over a suitable moniker, ANSEC christened and proclaimed the new Anambra Government House Mini City “Light House Awka,” in keeping with Anambra State’s slogan, “Light of the Nation.”
2. Anambra Rebirth: ANSEC explored how to completely restore Anambra society, reshape its moral and social structures, and establish the project as a lasting legacy of the Soludo administration.
3. The Extraordinary International Children’s Day Celebration on May Day: ANSEC relived the spectacular Special International Children’s Day (May 27) 2025 celebration at Solution Fun City and gave the children credit for their good conduct despite their large numbers.
4. Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission to be established: To implement the recently assented Anambra State Electricity Act, ANSEC decided to immediately establish the Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission and launched a recruitment drive for subject-matter experts to join the new commission.
5. Facilities Used As Holding Places For Child Beggars To Be Confiscated And Sealed In Compliance With Extant Law: The Council decided that, in accordance with the Anambra Homeland Security Law 2025, premises used as holding places for Child Beggars will be henceforth sealed and confiscated going forward.

3. Procurement and Supply of Official Uniforms and Operational Gears to Ocha Brigade, Anambra State
– Supplier: Analiro Enterprises Ltd
– Contract Sum: ₦155,653,550.00.”
