Police arrest suspected Armed robbery syndicate in Nnewi

Anambra State Police Command has arrested a member of an armed robbery gang, iNews Times reports.

The 20-year-old man, Nnaji Chukwuka was arrested in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of the state.

Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga who disclosed this on Friday said the suspect is a member of an armed robbery gang/syndicate/Motorcycle snatcher terrorizing the area.

He said the arrest followed painstaking efforts of the Operatives who have monitored the pattern of the criminal operations and based on a series of complaints about the activities of the gang in the area. 

He said, “Police Operatives attached to the Otolo- Nnewi Police Station on 29th May, 2025 arrested one Nnaji Chukwuka ‘M’ aged 20 years who is a member of an armed robbery gang/syndicate/Motorcycle snatcher terrorizing the area.

“The arrest follows the painstaking efforts of the Operatives who have monitored the pattern of the criminal operations and based on a series of complaints about the activities of the gang in the area. 

“The suspect has made useful statements that is aiding the investigation for possible arrest of the other gang members. 

“Meanwhile, the owner of the stolen motorcycle has been identified and the bike released accordingly.”
