Bola Tinubu May revoke lands

…Developers and individuals who have been granted approvals for projects on federal road pathways may face the risk of having their approvals revoked

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a stern warning to state governors, vowing to revoke all land approvals given on federal government road pathways, iNews Times reports.

The President made this declaration on Thursday during the launch of the reconstruction of the Deep Sea Port Access Road through Epe-Ijebu Ode.

He emphasized the need for collaboration between state governors and federal authorities on infrastructural development, particularly in relation to road projects. He expressed concern over the indiscriminate granting of planning approvals without proper coordination with the Surveyor General of the Federation and the Ministry of Works.

Tinubu’s  warning is aimed at ensuring that developments along federal roads are carried out in accordance with approved plans and regulations. He specifically highlighted the issue of unapproved islands being created illegally and stressed that his administration would no longer tolerate such practices.

The President called on state governors to work closely with federal authorities to ensure that planning approvals are granted in a manner that aligns with national development goals.

He noted that such collaboration is essential for the successful implementation of infrastructure projects and for preventing unauthorized developments that could hinder future road expansions.

The President’s vow to revoke approvals given on setbacks is part of a broader effort to enforce regulations governing developments along federal roads. Setbacks are critical for infrastructure development, as they provide the necessary space for future road expansions and maintenance.

By enforcing these regulations, the federal government aims to prevent the need for costly demolitions and ensure the smooth execution of infrastructure projects.

Developers and individuals who have been granted approvals for projects on federal road pathways may face the risk of having their approvals revoked if they do not comply with federal regulations.

The President’s warning serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to approved development plans and obtaining the necessary approvals from relevant authorities.

Tinubu’s declaration is expected to have significant implications for urban planning and development in Nigeria, particularly in areas along federal roads. It underscores the need for greater coordination between state and federal authorities in the approval and implementation of infrastructure projects.
