…Go ahead and try impeaching me again, MAKE MY DAY!”, Trump tells Democrats.
The United States President, Donald Trump on Tuesday, sparked fresh controversy with a fiery statement daring congressional Democrats to give a shot at impeaching him over his recent military actions against Iran, The iNews Times reports.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump taunted his critics: “Go ahead and try impeaching me again, MAKE MY DAY!”, borrowing a famous line from Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry films.
His comments followed sharp criticism from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who condemned Trump’s authorization of U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend, calling it a “grave violation” of the Constitution and congressional war powers.
Trump in his response dismissed Ocasio-Cortez as “one of the dumbest people in Congress” and gave her the nickname “The Mouse.” He accused her and other Democrats of opposing American success and suggested she should be required to take the same cognitive test he claims to have “aced” during his presidency.
The US president also lashed out at other progressive lawmakers. He labeled Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) as “a Low IQ individual” and criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), saying she “does nothing but complain” and insulted her Somali heritage by referring to Somalia as “one of the WORST countries in the world, if it’s even rated.”
Trump further mocked President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Biden’s use of an autopen to sign legislation, describing their leadership as “a radical left experiment” and a “disaster.”
Turning to speculation that Ocasio-Cortez may challenge Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) in a future Democratic primary, Trump remarked: “She better focus on her own race before trying to take down our Great Palestinian Senator, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, whose career is already hanging by a thread.”
President Trump’s remarks coincided with the start of a cease-fire between Israel and Iran, a deal he previously claimed credit for brokering.
