Anambra 2025: Ukachukwu’s Interest In Governorship Purely Financial – Obigwe

2025 Guber: Ukachukwu Regular Customer in Anambra’s Election - Obigwe

…says a vote for Ukachukwu is a vote for mediocrity.

The iNews Times reports that the National Coordinator All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe has dismissed the candidacy of Nicholas Ukachukwu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the 2025 Anambra governorship election, describing him as lacking both the vision and competence required for effective leadership.

Obigwe declared that Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo is effectively running unopposed in the November 8 governorship election, iNews Times reports.

Obigwe, in a statement attributed Soludo’s unopposed bid to his outstanding performance in governance.

He claimed that no previous governor in the history of the State has achieved what Soludo has accomplished within a single term.

“The track record of Governor Soludo speaks volumes. He has transformed Anambra in ways no other governor has. It is no exaggeration to say that he is going into the election without any real opposition,” Obigwe said.

He dismissed the candidacy of Nicholas Ukachukwu, describing him as lacking both the vision and competence required for effective leadership.

“As campaigns officially commence today, I must say unequivocally that a vote for Nicholas Ukachukwu is a vote for mediocrity. He has absolutely nothing to offer the people of Anambra

“No one in their right mind would endorse Ukachukwu. He has no grasp of governance, and his past record proves this. Since his single term in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003, he has failed to win any election — a clear indication of his political irrelevance.”

He further described Ukachukwu as a perennial contestant with no credible political capital, calling him “a regular customer in Anambra’s election marketplace.”

Obigwe emphasized that Ukachukwu is not in the same league as Governor Soludo, especially when it comes to governance and leadership.

“Even an APC governor once admitted that they are learning the principles of good governance from Soludo. In fact, before his election as governor, Soludo was invited by APC governors to lecture them on effective governance.

“Now that Anambra people have entrusted him with their mandate, they will not allow individuals like Nicholas Ukachukwu to derail the ongoing progress.

“Many are even praying that, if the constitution allowed for a third or fourth term, they would gladly support Soludo again. That is how deeply his administration has earned the people’s trust,” he stated.

Obigwe also alleged that Ukachukwu’s interest in the governorship is purely financial.

“His aim is not service, but personal gain. He’s simply looking to recover the money he spent to hijack the APC ticket, and he’s counting on financial support from APC governors,” he claimed.

Highlighting Governor Soludo’s national and international recognition, Obigwe noted that Soludo will be delivering a lecture at The Platform event in Lagos on June 12, 2025, as part of Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebrations.

“Governor Soludo is a recurring guest at The Platform because of the depth of knowledge he brings. Nigerians and the international community respect him. To even compare Nicholas Ukachukwu to him is laughable they are not in the same league.”

“Most importantly, Governor Soludo’s achievements during his first term have fully justified the trust placed in him by the Anambra electorate. He has earned a second term. As far as the November 8 election is concerned, it’s Soludo for Governor until March 17, 2030 or nothing,” Obigwe added.
