Yahaya Mourns as Seven Perish in Gombe Auto Accident

…Yahaya said the sudden loss of such valued lives has deeply affected everyone

GOMBE, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Saturday expressed profound grief over a fatal road accident that claimed the lives of seven residents of Lawanti community in Akko Local Government Area.

The deceased were said to be travelling to Maiduguri, Borno State, to attend a wedding ceremony when the tragedy occurred.

In a statement signed by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Gombe Government House, Ismaila Misilli, the governor described the incident as a heartbreaking and devastating loss, not only to the affected families but also to the Lawanti community, Akko LGA, and Gombe State as a whole.

Yahaya said the sudden loss of such valued lives has deeply affected everyone, noting that no amount of words can truly comfort families who have lost their loved ones in such tragic circumstances.

Yahaya extended his condolences to the bereaved families, especially the District Head of Jalingo, Bello Hassan Babangida, who lost his sister and niece; Idris Lawanti Maigari, who lost his daughter; and the councillor representing Akko Ward, Idris A. Isah Lawanti, who also lost close family members.

He prayed that Almighty Allah grants the families, relatives and the entire Lawanti community the strength, patience and resilience to endure the painful loss, and that the souls of the departed are granted mercy.

The governor further prayed that Allah forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, accepts their good deeds and grants them Aljannatul Firdaus.
