ACHARA, NIGERIA – The iNews Times | A suspected native doctor identified as Anagbo Emeka has been arrested by youths in the Achara community of Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra State, after reportedly being caught collecting and using used male condoms for fetish purposes.

Emeka, who hails from Umugbo in Ayamelum Local Government Area, was confronted and apprehended by vigilant youths after information surfaced about his disturbing activities. A video of the dramatic encounter was shared on Facebook by Dr. Uche Nworah, drawing widespread outrage online.

In a startling confession captured in the viral footage, the native doctor admitted to using the condoms to prepare charms associated with witchcraft. According to him, he contracted a woman whom he described as a commercial sex worker to supply him with used condoms from local brothels.

“I had an arrangement with a woman (a prostitute) to sell me used condoms,” Emeka admitted. “We agreed on the deal and she delivered. However, I didn’t know she had other plans against me and leaked the secret. That’s the bad thing I have done.”

The Native Doctor  further revealed that the items were used in making spiritual concoctions for various clients, including those involved in land disputes, interpersonal conflicts, and even criminal investigations.

“I use the collected items– used condoms to prepare charms for witchcraft. I also make charms for people with police cases and land problems,” he said.

Local authorities have yet to release an official statement, but residents of Achara say the community is shaken by the revelations. Youth leaders in the area commended the swift action taken by members of the community and urged others to remain vigilant against suspicious activities.

As of the time of filing this report, it remains unclear whether Emeka has been handed over to law enforcement or if any formal charges have been filed.

The incident has sparked a broader conversation on ritual practices and the exploitation of vulnerable people for fetish purposes across some parts of the country.
