…says the slight NOA Anambra reorganisation is to ensure the trickling down of government policies.

Awka, Nigeria — The iNews Times reports that the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra State Directorate on Tuesday witnessed a slight NOA Anambra reorganisation, including the appointment of Deputy Directors of the agency as supervisory Deputy Directors.

The Acting Director, Barrister Lady Ifeoma Chijioke, disclosed this on Tuesday in her office during an in-house training workshop organised by the leadership of the agency for management staff in the state.

She said the Deputy Directors would supervise activities of the agency in the 21 local government areas of the state.

Chijioke also announced receipt of a confirmation letter of her acting directorship of NOA in Anambra State from the Abuja national headquarters of the agency.

She read out the mandates of the supervisory Deputy Directors to include assessing and evaluating the performance of the Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officers (COMOs) of the agency across the 21 local government areas of the state for optimum performance.

“The essence of the slight NOA Anambra reorganisation is to ensure the trickling down of government policies, programmes, and activities of the agency to the grassroots across the state for better understanding and assimilation by the people,” she stated.

While asking the supervisory Deputy Directors to work towards initiating functional programmes that would be impactful on Nigerians, the Acting Director advised participants to visit her office whenever in doubt for clarification.

She also enjoined them to remain their brother’s keepers in the task of carrying out their statutory duties.

“The agency has a lot of work to deliver towards rewriting its denied fortunes over the years in the state.

“We must initiate human-oriented sensitisation programmes on the total fight against narcotics as well as youth gender violence that has been eating deep into the fabric of Nigerian society over the years.

“With unity and a formidable force among us, we can achieve a lot by turning around the misconstrued image of the agency in the state and Nigeria at large,” she said.

Chijioke also spoke on her intention to organise an orientation programme for all staff of the agency with a view to instilling in them a high sense of discipline, hard work, and respect.

She mandated the Deputy Directors and Unit Heads to prepare miniature lectures for prospective participants of the proposed in-house training workshop for the entire staff of the agency, which she said would hold soon.

Speaking separately, Deputy Director, Planning, Research and Statistics Department, Mr. Obi Okeke, and Deputy Director, Civic, Ethics and Democracy Education, Mr. Obi Remigius, among others, appreciated the Acting Director for starting her leadership with transparency and accountability.

They pledged unflinching support to her leadership, praying for more grace and wisdom to accomplish her heart’s desire in the agency.
