…Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki to serve as an ambassador for youth re-orientation.

Awka, Nigeria — The iNews Times | Popular native doctor Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, whose real name is Chidozie Nwangwu, has pleaded guilty to charges of administering Oke Ite charms for unlawful wealth accumulation. The plea, entered under a Plea Bargain, significantly reduced his sentence at the Anambra State High Court before Hon. Justice Jude Obiora.

The charges against him included aiding clients in obtaining money by false pretences through Oke Ite rituals and performing “Oke Ite” ceremonies for financial gain through illegal means. Following the plea agreement, Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki was convicted on counts three through eight, while counts one, two, nine, and ten were struck out.

Instead of the six-year prison term prescribed by law, he will serve 11 months at Awka Correctional Center, having already spent 13 months in custody.

In addition to imprisonment, the court ordered that Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki serve as an ambassador for youth re-orientation and entrepreneurship on a monthly basis, have his Oba shrine destroyed, and make a public statement denouncing Oke Ite rituals upon completion of his sentence.
